History

In the 1970’s, the space race was in full swing with the Americans and Russians competing to reach 'the final frontier'.  In terms of the rockets used, the Russians were tied in with solid fuel booster rocket systems whilst the US had advanced re-usable shuttle technology.

If through illness or injury, an unexpected and potentially fatal condition occurred amongst the crew, a huge blow could have been dealt to the space program unless the situation could be solved quickly. On the one hand NASA would be able to assist their astronauts using the space shuttle.  But a Soviet rescue mission would have taken much longer and may not have arrived in time.

This difference between the two approaches was pivotal in understanding the development and importance of Scenar and why it was, and remains ahead of its time.

The Russians needed an effective solution that would allow them to treat any condition that may arise with their cosmonauts, without relying on slow intervention from earth.
An elite team of doctors and scientists was assembled - their brief was to invent something new, something at the frontiers of understanding. This new invention needed to be lightweight and portable, run on minimal power, be exceptionally effective and require minimal training.

The result was S.C.E.N.A.R technology (Self Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulation).

The blueprint for Scenar was based on acupuncture, Chinese zonal massage and the knowledge of Chi or energy flow through the body. Soviet scientists who studied the intricate workings of the Central Nervous System and the ability of cells to communicate via different pathways, began to formulate the ideas that would lead to sophisticated electrical biofeedback devices.

They were the first to achieve repeatable therapeutic treatment using electrical signals to stimulate the immune system. For this, two of this team received the Order of Lenin.  Development continued with pioneering research led by Dr Yori Gorfinkel and Professor Alexander Revenko Scenar, resulting in the advanced Scenar devices of today.

This success led to original Scenar being included in the inventory of the Buran Space Project. This program was the most ambitious project of the history of Soviet space conquest, employing over one million people, which was called to a halt in 1993 after the breakup of the Soviet union.

Today, we are all able to benefit from Scenar technology, to take control of your own health.
